The experience
The afternoon heat softens as our jeep leaves the last houses of Hurghada behind. Out in the Eastern Desert you take the handlebars of a quad, then a buggy, and race over golden tracks towards the mountains. At a Bedouin village you sip sweet tea, meet the camels and watch the sky turn orange. Dinner is served under the stars, followed by music and a dancer spinning in colour. You are back at your hotel by around seven, dusty and smiling.
